Equipment
All of my filming is done on a Canon GL1 3CCD Digital Video camera.  All audio is recorded digitally in full stereo sound using either an onboard stereo microphone, an Audio Technica AT-822 stereo remote microphone, a Samsung UHF UM1 wireless microphone, a Shure SM77 low impedance microphone or, a combination of all.
All of my editing is done digitally using Pinnacle Studio DV on a Pentium III computer.  The master is made directly from the computer to Digital Video then transferred to VHS.

 Music Videos
This is something new for me.  I have a couple of projects in the works but, nothing, as of now, complete.  If you're interested, give me a yell.  You'll find I'm very reasonable, good and willing to work with you.  Just remember me when you get to the top :-)

 Concerts
I have shot quite a few concerts from outdoor festivals to hall performances.  It's something I really enjoy doing.  If you have a musical performance of some sort coming up, give me a yell and we'll see what we can work out.  I shoot all of my videos because it is something I enjoy doing.  I wish to preserve performances for the future or, for, "Posterity".
Of the concerts I've shot, I've had to do things in various ways based on the event and access.  To give you an idea of what's needed from you and what to expect, here are the setups and the pros and cons of each one:
Best Setup: Have full front stage access with a handheld camera shooting in front of the stage with live sound recorded on a stereo microphone at the soundboard.  This requires a wire run from the front of the stage to the soundboard or, back and up high.  I would typically mount this at about 12' high on a mic stand.
Good Setup: If access to the front of the stage is not possible, a CLEAR tripod position in the back will work good.  The video quality will vary based on how high I can get the camera and, what activity is going on in front.
Ok Setup: Have full front stage access with a handheld camera shooting in front of the stage with live sound recorded on a stereo microphone mounted near the front of the stage.
Bad Setup: Have at least, partial front stage access with a handheld camera shooting in front of the stage with live sound recorded on a stereo microphone mounted on the camera.  This works good but the sound tends to wander sometimes and, it is prone to being blown out by the P.A. at times.  If I have to use camera mount, I can't guarantee "perfect sound".
Worst Setup:In the audience holding the camera up high on a monopod.  This is usually a problem due to having the view blocked at various times and being bumped alot.  The sound WILL be bad if recorded that way.

Documentaries
The only documentaries I have shot so far are of backpacking trips.  I'd love to try other ones.  If you have an idea, give me a yell and we can see what we can work out.

Weddings
I have done some wedding videos.  It is not my favorite thing to do because of the resposibility it requires and the fear of something going wrong with the tape(s) but, I have done several and they have turned out excellent.  The reason I do them is because it's a great thing for people to have (I wish I had one of my wedding) and, most videographers charge an arm and a leg for one.  I think you'll find my prices are lower than most.  I guarantee you'll like it or. I'll give you all your money back.  I know that's no solice if it does not come out but, I charge lower prices because I am only one person with one camera.  If you want two camera coverage and guaranteed success, you'll have to pay the money.  But, as I said, I've never had one that did not turn out.  I have references and samples available.  Just ask.  For more detailed information and some samples, go to my Wedding Videography site.

Miscellaneaous
Whatever the event may be, I can preserve it for "posterity".  If there is anything you'd like preserved, just drop me a line and we can discuss it.  I'm particulary interested in recording things for history.  Be it a restaurant that's been there for years that is closing, an archiological dig, an old building or town, a boat, a performance, you name it.  I am open to recording anything for "posterity".

Samples of Movies
These are some of the movies I have made.  It is only a list of the ones that are completed.  If there is a link to another page, there is a sample cover and layout with details on the video.  A couple of them are available for purcase.  If you are interested in doing something with me, I will send you a sample of a similiar one.  All of my videos prior to September, 2000 were shot in VHS-C format so, it is taking some time to master them to digital before releasing them.  This is on ongoing process so, check back for the latest news.
