This video documents a backpacking trip on Isle Royale National Park in 1998.  It starts at Grand Portage, Minnesota boarding the boat to Isle Royale, getting dropped off at McCargoe Cove  and, then, hiking down the Minong Ridge to Washington Harbor.

    It was shot on a Sony 8mm camcorder by Roger Kuras.  I took his master 8mm video and transferred it to VHS then, edited it onto a VHS master using the computer to filter the "timestamp" on the bottom and add titles, sound and some music.  Since it was filmed and mastered in analog form, it's not as crisp as it should be. Also, this was my first attempt at editing a big project and my equipment wasn't the best so, there are a few drop-outs and I could have cut alot more out.  If you've been down the Minong Ridge, you will probably like this.  If not, and you just want to get an idea of the island, you'll probably like my 2000 movie more, "This Small Spot".

    It is available on one VHS stereo videotpape recorded at LP speed and runs approximately 250 minutes.  You will receive the tape and a plastic case with a custom label.  If you don't like it, send it back (within 30 days) and I'll send your money back (minus the 3.50 postage).
